On 31st July 2023, a successful three-year partnership with BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH) came to a conclusion. Through this partnership, GardaWorld was able to provide a blend of in-kind and financial support to the BVGH’s AAI Program, which utilises an innovative approach and multi-stakeholder engagement to accelerate access to cancer treatment.

GardaWorld is proud to have acted as the implementation partner in an Educate, Screen and Treat (EST) Cervical Cancer Screening Program in Rwanda. Working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Rwanda Biomedical Center, the program undertaken across 2021 saw 6,000 women screened for cervical cancer across the Bugesera district of Rwanda, with follow up treatment provided as required.

In supporting programme delivery, GardaWorld provided transportation solutions across the program, including the transportation of all samples for processing in Kigali, and transportation of women from their homes to Kigali where further treatment is required. We utilised our local presence to provide ongoing logistical and administrative support where this was otherwise unavailable, and developed and distributed all communications materials to enable the effective promotion of the program and awareness-spreading of the importance of being screened for cervical cancer.

The programme was hugely successful, with over 1,100 women being referred on for further screening or treatment from the initial screening phase. The infrastructure introduced through the programme has since been integrated into the Bugesera district healthcare system, ensuring long-term sustainability of the programme.

CSR – GardaWorld Security Africa

Driving Positive Social Impact

At GardaWorld, we recognise that the activities we undertake have far-reaching impacts beyond service delivery – promoting economic opportunity, cross-cutting stakeholders and impacting upon the local environment. We also know that strong, secure communities can bring a wealth of benefits, and we consistently look to how we can utilise our business to promote positive social and environmental benefits. We do this by exploring transformative community initiatives aimed at safeguarding human rights and fostering a brighter future for all. Our Corporate Social Responsibility Programme reflects this belief and focuses on the delivery of high-impact, sustainable projects which leverage the unique capabilities of GardaWorld whilst aligning with local needs. The programme is governed by our CSR Policy and CSR Panel, who drive the growth of the CSR Programme.
