Celebrating everyday heroes: The Wall of Honor

Wall of honour

GardaWorld Security – U.S. has unveiled the Wall of Honor to recognize and celebrate the heroism of our security officers. Located on the third floor of the St. Louis corporate office, the newly installed display honors every security officer who has saved a life over the past five years.

Each wall plaque tells the story of remarkable courage and service, celebrating the everyday heroes who have gone above and beyond in their roles. These acts include responding to medical emergencies, de-escalating dangerous situations, and taking life-saving action before first responders could arrive.

Below are just a few of the extraordinary stories featured on the Wall of Honor:

  • Nick responded to a massive chemical release, acting immediately to block access to the affected area, preventing exposure and potential harm to fellow team members. His actions ensured the safety of everyone nearby during the hazardous event.

  • Bryan worked quickly with law enforcement and his fellow on-site officers when responding to an active shooter threat at a hospital. He was integral in helping to contain the situation and prevent the armed individual from gaining access to patient areas, helping avert what could have been a mass casualty event.

  • Wanda observed a man in a closed section of a mall and approached him to ask if he had business on the property. He claimed he was waiting for his “girlfriend” to use the restroom, prompting Wanda to remain nearby on high alert. Moments later, a woman exited the restroom and quietly asked for help escaping a human trafficking situation. Wanda’s quick recognition of the danger and immediate response led to the woman’s rescue and the confirmation of an abduction that had lasted eight months and spanned over 1,000 miles.

  • Richard discovered an employee who had fallen into a water-filled pit while completing his rounds. The facility was closed for the weekend, and no one else was on-site, making his discovery critical. His quick action and call for help ensured the employee received life-saving medical attention.

  • Kristina witnessed a truck crash near her guard shack and found the driver in full cardiac arrest. She pulled him from the vehicle and began performing CPR until emergency responders arrived. The driver later returned to thank Kristina in person, thankful to be alive.

  • William responded to a call involving a child locked inside a hot vehicle in extreme summer heat. Using his expertise and training, his quick actions were able to safely free the child within eight minutes. His quick thinking helped prevent a tragedy.

In addition to being recognized on the wall, every honored officer will receive a framed version of their plaque to commemorate their actions, presented in person by their leadership team.

The Wall of Honor also includes several blank plaques, reserving space for future stories of heroism still to come. This ever-growing display stands as a lasting commitment to honor security officers who take life-saving action in the line of duty — now and in the years ahead.

Future lifesavers

All who visit the St. Louis corporate office for GardaWorld Security – U.S. are encouraged to pause and read the stories on the Wall of Honor. These acts of heroism serve as a powerful reminder of the vital role frontline teams play, and the importance of building a culture that celebrates and supports them.
